The Avondale Neighborhood Association (ANA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, non-partisan organization with the mission of unifying the Avondale community by preserving history, embracing diversity, and connecting neighbors.
Neighborhood Advocacy // ANA champions and represents the interests of the Avondale neighborhood, aiming to create proposals, projects, and programs that suit the diverse needs of our local community.
Collaboration // ANA believes that community engagement and development is fundamentally collaborative, necessitating connections and partnerships with organizations and individuals that reflect the dynamic nature of Chicago’s unique neighborhood ecosystem.
Mutual Respect // ANA supports environments and community forums that prioritize diplomacy, professionalism, and sensible compromise over partisanship and divisiveness.
Diversity // ANA recognizes and celebrates Avondale as a neighborhood founded on (and powered)by a diversity of backgrounds, upbringings, and perspectives.
Sustainability // ANA defines sustainability as an amalgamation of economic, environmental, and social practices focused on long-term health and growth, and strives to make informed decisions that weigh global realities alongside local priorities.
Elizabeth Muscare, President
A lifelong Chicagoan and real estate broker with nearly forty years of experience, Liz has served as the President of ANA and proud Avondale booster since 2018. / LinkedIn
Gavin Hamilton, Treasurer
Gavin is a native Chicagoan and brings his experience as an engineer and product manager to provide regular financial reporting for ANA, as well as providing summary reports at the annual ANA member retreat. / LinkedIn
Cynthia Juarez, Secretary
Keeps accurate records of all Board and Community Meetings minutes; manages ANA website, social media, e-newsletters, and related digital communications; builds and maintains relationships with elected officials, and identifies opportunities for partnerships.
Sean MacMullan, Director of Membership
Sean is a manufacturing applications developer and joined ANA in 2022. He moonlights as a civic technologist, responsible for projects such as Ward Wise Chicago and Avondale Events. He brings to ANA a passion for community organizing, data, and block parties.
Joaquin Silva, Director of Events
Ideates; manages neighborhood events; develops and oversees the publicity materials; builds relationships with governmental, civic, nonprofit, cultural, and other community organizations.
Spencer Guillory, General Counsel
Spencer is a tax attorney with Kozusko Harris Duncan specializing in tax planning for individuals, family offices, business owners, and tax exempt organizations. He is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago School of Law and licensed to practice law in Illinois.
